At Calvert, our goal is to provide our families with the best home education possible. Calvert’s English Language Arts curriculum for grades 3-12 was recently analyzed by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy. This thorough “Knowledge Map” assessment determined the quality and coherence of our curriculum to be strong across our grade levels.
One of the main reasons to undergo this curriculum analysis is to eliminate knowledge gaps, where students may have difficulty understanding a new concept because a related concept wasn’t fully comprehended or taught earlier in a child’s education. By closing any potential learning gaps, students gain a deeper knowledge of subject matter and are more likely to achieve a level of greater success.
While Calvert is delighted to provide comprehensive, content-rich curriculum to homeschool families, we also look forward to reviewing our study to enhance our offerings and continuously improve our learning materials, so Calvert curriculum continues to exceed a standard education.
