Calvert 3rd Grade Language Arts focuses on the sequential development and integration of communication skills in the major areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students are introduced to basic reading skills, as well as reading strategies to use in short stories, a short play, poetry, and fables.
Students use graphic organizers to follow the writing process to write for a variety of genres. In addition, the course focuses on teaching research strategies learning verbal communication skills through a variety of projects.
