Calvert U.S. History: Foundations to Present covers early American exploration to the present day, placing special emphasis on the politics of the 18th and early 19th centuries and the Civil War. Additionally, students gain practice in writing essays and reports, covering topics like the Monroe Doctrine, the states’ rights debate, the Lincoln-Douglas debates, isolationism, the New Deal, and the Korean conflict.
 
In addition to the default course program, Calvert U.S. History: Foundations to Present includes alternate lessons, projects, and tests for use in enhancing instruction or addressing individual needs.
