Small Business Entrepreneurship

Calvert Small Business Entrepreneurship is a semester-long course that provides students with the skills needed to effectively organize, develop, create, and manage their own business, while exposing them to the challenges, problems, and issues faced by entrepreneurs. Throughout this course, students are given the chance to see what kinds of opportunities exist for small business entrepreneurs and become aware of the necessary skills for running a business. The course also studies the traits and characteristics that are found in successful entrepreneurs, as well as how research, planning, operations, and regulations affect small businesses.

Throughout the course, students learn how to develop plans for having effective business management and marketing strategies. Calvert Small Business Entrepreneurship also teaches basic principles of entrepreneurship and business ethics and looks at the major steps relevant to starting a new business, including financing, marketing, and managing.
